February Fun

Hi Pholks

Well we have had a busy month. Last meeting at the Alibi was great ! It was fantastic to see lots of members and some old friends . I'm just sorry that coaching took me away from the meeting , I drive the athletes up to Western to train during the Wrestling Finals, cause I would have like to stay. Some good news attached to the meeting first of all we are a go at McDonald House on July 7 as confirmed by the community liaison, second as of today we can Volunteer at the Foodbank in London on March 12 , during March Break. Some of you said you may be able to join me so I'll send more info out as I get it. Canusa turned out to be a pretty good event , although the band was not really a Parrothead band they definitely pleased the crowd. I'd would encourage people to go next year . At this time I'd also like to send out healthy thoughts to those Members who are recovering from various ailments better now than in the summer.
Our next meeting is on Thursday March 8 at 7pm , from the feedback I got I think it will be ok if we have the meeting at the Alibi again. Topics of interest include details of working at the foodbank , arranging a tour of the kitchen at McDonald House and the Alzheimer Walk in May . Looking forward to seeing another great crowd .

Cheers,

Cap'n Gord

Christmas Float

Hey Pholks

We had a Phantastik turnout for the Foodbank Christmas Float November 12th . The group did a great job and the Food bank collected over 11 thousand pounds of food during the London Christmas Parade .
Our meeting after was very productive we decided on 3 major ideas : 1) a christmas party at Gregg and Doreen's on December 17th , more to come on that , 2 ) create an event, publicize it , gather new members, I think it will be a smaller event but it's going to happen, 3) other creative ways to give back to the community ie) volunteer to prepare meals for McDonald House in their kitchen .
All the LPH's are awesome people deserving of recognition you may not get it from anywhere else but I'll tell you here in public you are a benefit to the communities you live in.

Cheers,

Cap'n Gord
